It Can Be Done Amigo (Si può fare... amigo) a.k.a Bulldozer Is Back Amigo a.k.a Can Be Done, Amigo a.k.a The Big and the Bad a.k.a Halleluja Amigo a.k.a Saddle Tramps
Atlántida Films, Les Productions Jacques Roitfeld, Sancrosiap, Terzafilm Produzione Indipendente, Italy, France, Spain, 1972.
This movie can be found in Ten Thousand Ways to Die The Spaghetti Western Collection 12 Movie Pack by Mill Creek Entertainment.

Hiram Coburn (Bud Spencer) is an easy-going drifter with a a stubborn horse Rufus. Angry cowboys want to hang him for stealing horses. Little boy Chip Anderson (Renato Cestiè) and his uncle (Manuel Guitián) demand a fair trial so Hiram ends up in jail. Accidentally he gets a chance to escape when cellmate Big Jim's (Luciano Catenacci) friends bust him out of prison.

Sonny Bronston (Jack Palance) is after Hiram. Sonny is a pimp and gunfighter and he wants to kill Hiram for seducing his sister Mary (Dany Saval) but first Sonny must marry Mary to make her a honourable woman. In the desert Hiram finds Chip's uncle Ben who is dying of heart attack. Ben asks Hiram to take care of Chip and bring him to Westland. Hiram escapes Sonny by knocking him out.

In Westland welcome is hostile and Hiram gets in a brawl with bank robbers. Also everyone is trying to take over Chip's newly owned ranch. Shady priest Franciscus (Francisco Rabal) makes a deal with Sonny to get rid of Hiram. A strange man (Franco Giacobini) is buying buckets of dirt. Chip's ranch has the mud with the best taste. Maybe the villains are after the delicious mud.

Luis Bacalov's music is good. For some reason this print has a strange echoing sound in the first 15 minutes. Also Pan & Scan makes the slapstick style fights difficult to follow. Bud Spencer goes around leisurely as reluctant hero. You will know that he is about to punch someone when he puts his glasses on. Jack Palance substitutes as Terence Hill, although being a bit more mean-spirited.
When Bud puts glasses on...
... someone is punched
Although a little slow the movie is quite fun Bud Spencer comedy with hillbilly shotgun wedding plot. Not one of Bud's best though. As a special note the ranch was also used in Sergio Leone's "Once Upon A Time In The West", Bud even says "So this is the famous well."

  1. It seems Soul Media's disc is the same but the image being 4:3 with Pan & Scan stretched to 2.35:1. Makes stuff VERY hard to follow.

    1. Interesting, both seem to be based on the same print. From somewhere I read that also the Soul Media version has the same echoing sound problem. Soul Media's "Boot Hill" has also correspondingly bad image quality. (At least these cheapo boxsets are, well, cheap).
