Sensation a.k.a Sensations a.k.a Burning Sensation

Kushner-Locke Company, MDP Worldwide, USA, 1994. 

Lila Reed (Kari Wuhrer) gets a work study assignment at Dr. Ian Burton's (Eric Roberts) psychometry lab. Ian has a cool CD-player that plays sounds from Chang-vase. Lila hears voices and is sensitive to radar signals so she must record the impressions. Ian gives Lila items and Lila must use her skills to sense the vibrations and tell about the owner.

First items are pantyhose of a sexy but cold young woman. Later Lila visits an apartment seen in her dream and hears that girl named Carrie Reiner (Alisa Diane) was murdered there. Also the Doctor was her lover and police suspected him of murder. However Burton had an alibi from Dr. Paula Langford (Claire Stansfield).

Movie freak Denny (Kieran Mulroney) tries to ask Lila out with modest success. However erotic vibes surround Dr. Burton. Burton does not even have to do anything and girls take their clothes off. It is so wrong on so many levels! Best friend Maryann (Tracey Needham) warns about Burton. Lila moves into Carrie's apartment and gets peeped by pervy landlord Mitch (Paul Le Mat).

Detective Pantella (Ron Perlman) is clueless about the murder case. Creepy man named Earl (Ed Begley Jr.) attempts to harass Lila in the bar. Lila imitates style of Carrie, and becomes the next target of the murderer. Can Lila find out who the murderer is before it is too late?

Supernatural erotic thriller that stars quite promising, but runs of of ideas and starts plodding. Something about the cinematographic style reminds of giallo-movies, although the movie never goes gory but stays on the level of a TV-mystery movie with erotic scenes. Ron Perlman makes a small role as Detective. Eric Roberts appears in some vicariously embarrassing sex scenes.

The Scandinavian DVD (in four movie box together with "The Addiction", "Husbands & Lovers" and Summer Dreams - The Story of Beach Boys") has error with Finnish subtitles, they are in Swedish.
