Movie Review: Lego DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League - Cosmic Clash

Lego DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League - Cosmic Clash
DC Entertainment, The LEGO Group, Warner Bros. Animation, USA, 2016.
Lego DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League - Cosmic Clash title
Whereas some people collect stamps, action figures or coffee cups, naughty Brainiac (Phil LaMarr) collects planets. Earth is the next one on his list. Batman (Troy Baker) and the Justice League have again some differences of opinion but solving those can wait as Brainiac parks his spaceship on Earth's orbit.

Humiliated Brainiac retreats to Brainiac-planet to hatch a new plan. He sends Superman (Nolan North), Wonder Woman (Grey Griffin) and Green Lantern (Josh Keaton) in the past or the future. Batman and Flash build a time machine to get them back. Cyborg recruits Supergirl (Jessica DiCicco) to help. Lego-incarnation of Supergirl is a cheerleader with short attention span, but she gets the job done. Batman meets dinosaurs, cavewomen, pirates and future minions of Brainiac. At one point Batman literally jumps the shark (let's hope this does not forecast decline in quality for the series!)

The third "Lego DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League" story offers much fun as the predecessors. At this point it is clear that the Legofied superheroes do not take themselves too seriously (except Batman) but at the same time it offers fun references to DC Comics mythology. The different eras gives the heroes possibility to wear some contemporary costumes and represent the heroes as they would have lived in the ancient times. Lightning Lad, Saturn Girl and Cosmic Boy make their appearance in the futuristic segment. The script has amusing puns and there is also a little spoof of "Batman v Superman."
Lightning Lad, Saturn Girl and Cosmic Boy
Batman v Superman lite.

  1. Tuli tämä eilen hommatuksi ja katsotuksikin. Hauska pätkä aivan kuten aiemmatkin vastaavat.

    1. Näinpä. Ekassa näistä Justice League-leffoista oli vielä tyyli vähän hakusessa, mutta Rick Moralesin vakiinnuttua ohjaajaksi on jälki ollut tasaisen laadukasta.
