Interceptor Force a.k.a Interceptors a.k.a The Last Line of Defence a.k.a Alien Interceptors a.k.a Predator 3: Intercepters
Unified Film Organization (UFO), Interceptors Productions Inc., USA, 1999.
In Canada 1993 UFO kills some people. In 1999 secret agent Sean Lambert (Olivier Gruner) infiltrates an evil tech company James Bond style. Similar well made gambit that has little to do with the actual story is also present in the sequel.

UFO enters U.S. airspace and destroys some stealth fighters of Major MacKenzie (Ernie Hudson). Weber (Brad Dourif) appears and authorizes use of nuclear weapons. UFO launches an escape pod that lands in Mexico near small western town.

Interception Team with Sean, Dave (William Zabka) and Russell (Glenn Plummer) are called to find the "the black boxes of the crashed fighter" but really to find the pod and destroy the alien. Also Jena Godwin (Angel Boris Reed) and Jose Perez (Mark Adair-Rios) join the team.

In Mexico an invisible alien creature begins to kill the members of the team. Jena reveals that in 1993 USA launched a nuke in Canada to kill something. Mob boss Rosario (Stefan Lysenko) has his own problems with unreliable staff. He gets more trouble when Sean redecorates his saloon interiors. Alien kills some of Rosario's goons. It can also shapeshift. Gangsters and agents fight against the alien but the clock is ticking as USA will send a tactical nuke if the mission fails.

As an early Syfy feature it is not the worst kind. Cheap direct to video scifi action is elevated a bit because of above average aviation scenes and Gruner's martial arts skills. Especially the fight scene in saloon makes some homage to Hong Kong films. Watch after end credits for goofs. Brad Dourif plays an eccentric CIA (or whatever agency) man. The story has entertainingly cheesy moments with some demented dialogue.
As a silly scifi action it is not all bad but not great either. The sequel "Interceptor Force 2" repeats the formula improving the ideas presented here, taking the action to more serious direction.
