The downward spiral of spoof films after Millennium can be much accounted for by the flood of spoof movies having the word "movie" in their titles. In his Discworld-novels Pratchett parodies pretty much everything. Some of the books have been made into TV movies. Hogfather parodies Christmas stories, The Colour of Magic parodies fantasy and hero tales and Going Postal parodies business thrillers.
